Welcome to Skybound’s new Speech and Language Therapy website!! Firstly let me introduce myself and the team………
I’m Carys, Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Skybound Therapies. I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2011, and have been working at Skybound since April 2012. I have post graduate training in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), which I completed through Florida Institute of Technology, in 2013, and regularly use the principles of ABA in my therapy sessions. I completed Talk Tools Level 3 in June 2015, and I have experience in assessing and devising programmes for children with a wide range of speech and/or oral motor difficulties. I also completed Level 2: PROMPT Bridging Technique to Intervention out in Canada in October 2014, therefore making me one of only 3 therapists in the UK currently trained to this level.
My colleague, Lisa, joined our team as a Speech and Language Therapist in April 2016 after moving to Pembrokeshire from Ireland!!! Lisa has been providing weekly therapy for some of the children we see locally as well as conducting baseline assessments for families who require an overview of where their child’s skills currently lie. She is currently studying to become a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst, through Florida Institute of Technology. Lisa has also completed Talk Tools Level 2 and uses Talk Tools regularly in her practise.
Please take a look at the Our Team page for more information on us both.
The aim of our website is to provide you with information on the interventions which we offer, as well as how these interventions can be delivered. We have tried to provide as many service options as possible for you to choose from, however we do strive to be flexible to individual client’s needs, and would therefore be happy to negotiate a service which suits you best!!
You will also see that we offer training courses to parents and professionals so that you can learn more about the difficulties the individuals we work with encounter and the interventions that can be provided to support these individuals. We had previously held these courses in Swansea, and would hope to set some other dates in the future. We would also like to offer tailor made training sessions for parents, professional, schools and so on, and would love to hear from you if you had any ideas.
I hope you find our new website a useful resource, and if you have any questions then please do not hesitate to Contact Us.
We hope to keep you up to date regularly with Our Blog, and news feeds, but you may also want to ‘like’ our Facebook page to keep up to date with any new developments, research articles or just to have a bit of an idea of what we get up to.
